I was originally going to make this post about bridal trends that I'm loving at the moment, but we have to save that one for next time because Vera Wang's 2020 Bridal Collection deserves a whole blog post to itself and more. When I tell you there were tears in my eyes...actual tears. I'm also just learning (thanks to Vogue) that this is her 60th bridal collection?! *Insert "you're doing amazing, sweetie." meme here*. Unlike every other bridal designer, (myself included, although I hate to admit), Wang wanted her dresses in this collection look completely different from EVERY. ANGLE....(AMAZING), instead of putting emphasis on the usual focal points of a bridal gown (the front and back). Just this idea alone for bridal is truly something I've never seen, heard, or even thought of. Vera Wang just changed the whole d*mn bridal game and I'm not mad about it. Just very, very emotional. I have to borrow this last line from Vogue's description of the collection because I just think it describes this collection so beautifully. Emily Farra writes, "...for the fashion-forward bride who wants to look truly relaxed, a bit of strangeness would feel just right—maybe even a bit liberating.".

Okay, okay, okay. Let's talk about Wang for a little bit. We've all heard of her. Personally, Her past few bridal collections have not been anything I felt any type of feelings for, so this one threw me through a loop. I felt like her pervious collections were trying a little to hard to be out of the box and when it comes to bridal, there's only so far out of the box you can really go. I hate to say that about the Queen because at the end of the day she definitely knows more about fashion and bridal than I probably ever will but it balances out my obsessions with this most recent collection. I just remember looking at some of her designs and thinking, "this? this is it? These are the designs the fashion world praises?" but clearly, back then I was young and naive. And now looking back on them with a little bit more fashion knowledge, I can appreciate the designs because they are really cool and very different from what we usually see in the bridal world, and the last thing I want to do is criticize someone else vision. Even her Fall 2019 Bridal Collection is something to be mentioned.

This one!!!! My jaw DROPPED. The lace, the tulle overlay, the colors and how it all just softly blends together in a perfect bridal gown harmony.. Just so beautiful and delicate and romantic and ugh.

But lets get to the real reason why we're here. To swoon over Vera Wang's Spring 2020 Bridal Collection.

Here are just a few of my favorites...and by few I mean surprisingly only half because I loved every single on of them and had to try really hard to pick my favorites.

So, all of them have a romantic, whimsical feel which is my favorite bridal aesthetic.

The first one, I love because of the unique waistline. Usually, I'm not one to go for anything other than a natural waist because in my opinion, that's the most flattering. But on this gown that point at the bottom of the bodice accentuates the hips in such a beautiful, sexy way. And I love a deep V neckline. Plus, the color palette is just the perfect amount of subtle color.

Next, well, nothing says bridal more than some lace! My absolute favorite favorite favorite bridal trend ever, I will always love it, is sheer fabrics. Sheer lace, mesh, anything that shows a little skin, I am here for it. I love this one because of the layers of lace and how they look so light. Somehow, she managed to make a full lace dress and then some, look like the perfect amount.

The third one, Im including because first of all, the drape, It somehow looks effortless. And second of all, I think this one really represents her concept. I can see how this dress would look different from every angle, but in the most elegant way.

The pink one, I included solely for the color. I take that back...for the color and also the deep V neck line, but more so because it's this beautiful shade of pink mixed with almost peachy tones. I think for a non-traditional bride who wants to own their wedding day, this one would just STUN walking down the isle.

Okay, next. I'm loving this sleeve. It almost gives the dress a youthful vibe without going full on flower girl. It's romantic, it has the A-symmetry, the lace, the layers of tulle. Beautiful.

Almost there people!! The 6th one, I included, again, for the drape and I loooove a good boned bodice, of course with the sheer fabric. I also love, how she played with the layers of tulle and lace on this one. It doesn't look too heavy. In fact, everything about this dress is almost too perfect! It hits at the natural waist, which we know is my favorite waist placement. And I love the off the shoulder on the right arm with the fabric being pulled up over the shoulder by the flowers on the left arm. This is a good one.

The back of the second to last one is just so different, I love it. And I love the use of a heavier fabric with draping that makes it look like the models floating. That's when you know it's a good drape. Same goes for the last one, the layers and the drape look like a dream that I never want to wake up from. She looks like she's just wrapped in softness and comfort and beauty.

Well, If you've even made it this far, thanks for hanging around to read all about my emotional attachment to this collection. I'm sure you're sick of me! But please, if you take one thing away from this post let it be to never doubt The Great Vera Wang like I so naively did. These bridal looks are to die for, and I will stand by that for the rest of my bridal loving life!
