We made it to the half way mark! The beginning of the fourth week of summer camp has just begun. These past few weeks have been slightly exhausting, but so rewarding. At the end of the day, I really do enjoy helping students who want to learn how to sew, make things for themselves and for their friends and family members. I love how happy the get when they finish one of their projects, and how proud they are of themselves. It makes me so happy!!!! Here are some projects the students have worked on over the last 3 weeks:

More really great inspo. boards!

Embroidery!

The third week, I had more students than sewing machines, so I had them make earrings to give them something to do. Turned out to be my one of my favorite projects!

I got the idea to have the students up-cycle T-shirts from a problem solving class I took in college. For our final project, we had to take old clothing items that we had or found at a thrift shop and make it into something completely different but still wearable. Just so happens we had a whole bin full of plain white T-shirts for the students to "up-cycle"! As you can see, some cropped the shirt, added pockets and patchwork and one even made an off the shoulder crop top! I also had them make pencil skirts to fit them, and they wanted to make matching scrunchies. So cute.
